Word Break: Trends for the Modern-Day Cher Horowitz

Though I love reading,

Sometimes I just love looking at a good picture. There is that old cliche, “a picture is worth a thousand words.” As I mentioned in my intro post, when I first started becoming interested in fashion I bought the Teen Vogues and Vogues to look at the pictures, not to read the articles. With that being said, every few posts I’m going back to my roots and posting photos of fashion and beauty that inspire me/are trending. I will call these posts “Word Breaks.” Today’s Word Break will be on Cher Horowitz from the classic 90’s film “Clueless.”

I was Cher for Halloween this past year…and I had to tell EVERYONE what I was…which is surprising because of that overrated Iggy Azalea remake. Anyway, here are some of my favorite street style trends that Cher would totally be wiggin’ over.

See-Through + Pink

* Extra style points for Karlie Kloss…adding a plaid skirt – Cher’s staple piece – to the mix.

Satin + Layers

* An updated look from the movie poster…replaced the white feather boa with metallic booties and crystal choker.

* I finally found Cher’s “white collarless shirt from Fred Segal” she was looking for.

And for my Amber lovers…

* Lest we never forget her red sailor hat debaucheryChiara Ferragni of The Blonde Salad does it better. Much less high school dress code though.
